Billet Main Caps / Girdles

Some engines will start to show their weak points as you start increasing the power level. In some engines, after you've replaced the pistons, rods, and sometimes the crank, the next weak point in the block becomes the main caps that hold the crankshaft in. It is common practice to replace the factory cast main caps with billet steel main caps as a failure prevention modification to strengthen the block.
